Florida Counseling and Evaluation Services

Florida Counseling and Evaluation Services provides intensive outpatient substance abuse treatment services (IOP) for adolescents and adults in separately contained programs. Florida Counseling and Evaluation Services' IOP program provides integrated treatment for co-occurring substance abuse and mental health issues.

Welcome Statement

Florida Counseling and Evaluation Services welcomes all clients for treatment services related to alcohol and drug addiction, and services in need of life enhancing recovery from co-occurring conditions. We expect that many clients presenting for treatment at our facility will have co-occurring issues and we will screen for these disorders. We provide options including integrated services related to alcohol and drug addiction and other behavioral health disorders.

Goal

Our goal is to maintain an empathic, ethical, responsive, and professional attitude in all phases of care, and we are dedicated to creating an environment of opportunity, choice, and hope for our program participants. All individuals seeking services will be received in a welcoming and respectful manner – regardless of presenting needs, symptoms, or illness.

Florida Counseling and Evaluation Services’ staff will aid all individuals navigating the mental health, alcohol and drugs, and medical treatment systems. Our approach is a system-based effort, and as a result of advocacy and referral, individual needs are addressed either by our direct services or by a collaborating provider within the local therapeutic community. Our philosophy is to ensure that individuals receive all the services they need and for which they are eligible.

Our Mission

To actively and aggressively intervene, as early as possible, against the physical, psychological, social, educational, and family crisis experienced by individuals who are affected by substance use disorders or co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders in an environment that preserves and promotes the dignity of the individuals served without regard to race, color, creed, gender, economic, or social circumstance, sexual orientation, or national origin. Our vision is to provide individualized care to address person-specific needs, and incorporate group dynamics to enhance growth and overall well-being.

For Adults and Adolescents

The adolescents program serves youth ages 14 to 17. The adult program offers services for those 18 and over. The IOP programs meet up to 4 times per week and up to 12 hours per week and meets the State of Florida required 9-hour per week minimum. The IOP program at Florida Counseling and Evaluation Services is designed to help individuals' needs for higher levels of care, help sustain long-term sobriety, mental health, and support individuals remaining in their permanent homes and environment. Upon completion of the Intensive Outpatient Substance Abuse Program, Florida Counseling and Evaluation Services will provide recommendations based upon each client’s individualized treatment and discharge plan.

Alcohol and Drug Assessments

Florida Counseling and Evaluation Services utilizes a combination of face-to-face interviews, combined with obtaining collateral information and utilization of the most-widely accepted and nationally recognized assessment instruments that include Substance Abuse Subtle Screening Inventory  - SASSI and other psychometrically appropriate instruments.

Service Coordination

The IOP staff at Florida Counseling and Evaluation Services will administer initial assessments, may request urine drug screens, and will communicate weekly, or as needed or required, with clients’ other providers, i.e. probation/parole officers, employers, forensic social workers, public defenders, judges, case managers, and family members where and when appropriate and relevant.

Participant Satisfaction

Florida Counseling and Evaluation Services conducts participant satisfaction surveys to enlist feedback from clients to ensure ongoing development of quality interventions and services.
